Just curious.
I've had a handful of mostly computer related stuff posted for over a week now. Tons of hits but no sales. Even several really nice complete computer system for peanuts of a price.
I also post on my local Craigslist. But there the stuff sells. Most of the time within a few hours (Like I said - CHEAP prices). Same item. Same price. Same description. Same picture(s). Same everything.
Just figured I'd give Kijiji a try but so far I'm not very impressed.
What gives? |

I was disappointed.
You blew it on this one, eBay.
You can't compete with Craigslist where 'free' is concerned.

| I never have sold anything on Kijiji, but I have two friends that do make and sell crafts the sell and really enjoy it. |

it probably depends on what is being offered. There just might not be someone looking for a particular item. does sound like you have something that would be desired though. Also depends on where you are located, could be less people viewing the site in your city than in others. Try posting it in all the cities in your state (if you are willing to deal in that range) and see if that helps.

Its all about the sites ability to bring buyers. Craigslist is YEARS ahead of this site in most markets so they have a much more established customer base. It will get better with time...but what do you have to lose by making a listing in both??

| How many views do your ads get? On 4 ads I have placed I've gotten over 1000 views and have had 11 contacts. Most bought. If you're going to critique the site, I'd think you need to do it based on views, not sales. Views they can help... actual sales they can't. |

A few of my friends from etsy and I are doing a bit of marketing experimentation. We are posting free ads for our handcrafted items to see where we get the best responses. I am keeping an excel file of when I post ads-where-what I posted and how many views,inquireies and sales come from each ad.
With the economy the way it is, we have to try all kinds of things to make sales.

I sold items listed in just one day. I have a couple of other listings with alot of hits and no sales but it is free to list and if I have to wait to sell and then relist, I will. I'm staying here.
Another thing too, isn't this site pretty new? Maybe it will take some time to build up more people.
I'm not complaining. |

Kijiji Kelly...I am confused. I thought we were only allowed to post in one city within our state or region. Are you saying that we can post the same ad in multiple cities within our state? I'd love to know!
