Heres my rant for today.Had a lady set up a time to come look at a pup.Got him bathed, trimmed and flea treatment, ready to go.She emails and says she cant have one where she lives. For one she should of asked before setting up an appointment.DUH!!Also I've had people in the past make an appointment and I sit and wait then no show. Why do people do this??My time means something too!!I had a lady that had a 4 hour drive so I waited and waited, cause maybe she got lost no show no call, really makes me mad.I would never call to see a puppy if I did not want it.

ummm.. question Confused

why would a puppy need to be "bathed" before someone coming to see them?

I've never "bathed" or in other words never had to "clean up" my pups when a buyer was coming by anyone could stop by day or night and see the pups and they would already be "clean & tidied" Confused

as for the rest "no-shows" are part of selling off free sites, tell the people when they can come ex. 5pm-5:30pm if they dont show up then go on with your day, if they show up late without calling to let you know Turn them away and forget about them.

I've had allot of "looky lou's". Show up, take about 3 hours of my time and then leave. I just wish people would wait until they are seriously looking for a pet,and have the available funds before shopping around.

ALSO~ Someone sent me a rude message this morning about selling my dogs when they are only 6-7 weeks old! If they have had the first set of shots and are weaned from the mother, then what is the issue? And why would someone find it necessary to call me a "dope" for selling them at this age? People just can't stay out of other people's business!

Fools,I always bath my pups before they go to a new home, not cause they need it so they are fresh and smell good.Common sense.Watch out on here cause everyone gets in your business.I only show dogs by appointment,I do have people sometimes show up but not usually cause I live in the country.I dont think having certain hours is very fair to people that have busy schedules they are the ones that need to make their minds up before calling on pups and make sure they can have them.I sold a pup to a lady off fox 59 and it took her 2 weeks to make it cause of her schedule, but she did come. Its nice to be courteous to others.

Could be because most people know pups learn important social behaviors from being with it's mother and litter mates during the 6-8 week stage, a big one is for "nipping and chewing" when playing.
Pups can be fully weaned by 5 weeks but doesnt mean they are ready to go.

common sense.... Ha i'll leave that one alone Rolling Eyes

they are puppies if they are being well looked after then the only "smell" they have is the normal "puppy smell" unless a pup is out rolling around in mud or pee then pups should never need a bath before they are settled into their new homes.

whatever, crap whine about people "wasting" your time then say having certain hours isnt fair Rolling Eyes

Sorry but if someone was interested in adding a life time pet to their lives and they would "make" the time to be there during the time you set for them.

perhaps its losing the cash that has you not turning away someone who shows up late and has you waiting around all day for someone who may or may not show up?

Do you have to bash everyone, your making a mountain over a mole hair!!One reason I wash them is some people have allergies and they are in with Poms, they play together so therefore they might be allergic to the puppy dander. Not my fought you aren't courteous enough to have the puppies look nice.I am just pickey that way.I also clean house before people come so what.I have a cat that leaves hairballs so I vacumm.

It's also illegal in most states to sell them this early. In most states the law is 8 weeks old.

Here in AZ it's only illegal to sell them before 8 weeks old if you are a pet shop owner selling puppies.

FooIs,
They are long haired puppies, and they look great after being bathed and brushed, it probably has nothing to do with "tidying up" my neighbors Shi-Poo puppy is constantly getting brushed but she looks so nice after being fully groomed, Any new pet owner would appreciate not having to worry about it when they get home, the puppy will be stressed out enough as it is going to a new environment.

Seiberts,
It is a pet peeve of mine as well , I have some one driving down from canada today and all week I have been telling my husband "if she makes it by" simply because you just can't hold most people to their word! Granted I have spoken to this women several times but you still can't depend on them showing up!

We dont have a state law of age for Pet stores they sell them as early as 5 weeks at one store. Some counties have city ordinances that say 8 weeks, but the 2 towns around us dont have one.

brushing isn't bathing all pups even short haired ones look great after a quick brushing, but if a puppy is being well taken care of there is no need for them to be bathed if they arent rolling around in mud.
If the whelping box is kept cleaned that is and if the puppies have free roam of your home there just isnt a need to bath a puppy.

sorry but only ones that tend to bath pups before selling them tend to be brokers cleaning up their "product" Arrow
