Do not buy from X Barks the Spot in Crockett!!!!

A couple of months ago, my kids and i drove to Crockett to check out one of the dogs that was posted on Kijiji. We fell in love with one of the puppies, bought her, and took her home. 24 hours later, our dog became lethargic, had diarrhea and refused to drink and eat. we brought her to the vet and were told that she had Parvo. there is a 10-day justation period for parvo so it was clear that our little puppy got this from the place we purchased her from. fwithin a week, we had incurred $2500 in veterinarian bills for our dog. our dog was "guaranteed" by the seller and we expected a full refund from this. after many unreturned phone calls, i finally spoke to the owner, chuck, and he confirmed that the puppies he sold had parvo, and that 7 out of 10 puppies have died. he assured me that i would get a refund but i've gotten the runaround since then and NEVER saw my money returned.

for those of you out there who are considering purchasing a puppy, DO NOT BUY from X Barks the Spot. His place is parvo-infected (sources indicate that it takes 6 months before a parvo infected site can be safe enough to not contaminate other puppies). You may end up with thousands of dollars in vet bills.

So sorry to hear about this, thanks for warning everyone though.

This year parvo has been extremely bad - I have heard of more cases this year than ever before.

Yes my vet was saying its been really bad this year I'm getting my pups 2 round of vaccines before they leave I wish I could hold onto them for their third but a family emergency has forced me to let them go after their second set. I told all my buyers "Don't take them ANY WHERE" until their vaccines are completed

Sorry to hear about your puppy and troubles with this breeder. sounds like this "Puppy peddler( Puke) gets his pups from a" farmer at this time"

I hate to hear about this stuff, I wish people would research what a responsible breeder is. It would save alot of heart ache.

what so sad to me is the death of these puppies. I do show my pup because i have so many people ask to see them and at first i would let them so they would get mad and go find them a puppies mill and you know how they are. So what i did was built in a class front nursery in a wall they can see but they cant touch. For the breeder not only sould he return the money to the buyer and pay the med bill on the one that lived. And to do a better job of taking care of his pup or stop breeding all together

Can you take the scum bag to small claims court ? Can you report him to the SPCA or some other organization ? Can you bring him to my house and we'll give him a good old fashion blanket party?

I HATE this person whoever he?she is

sorry to hear.

this why my babies never go home with out shots. when they in my care we do not let outside. we let the new mom's and dad's know not to take them to the pet stores or the dog park, before the pup has had 3-4 sets of shots. and is 16-20 mos old. or bring other pups in thier home to play with the new baby.

and to bring back the puppy if they can nolong take care if it. even yrs down the road.

our last litter had one pup come down with cough after she went to her new home. they took her the vet. the vet said it was brought on by stress of a new home.

we put the other pups on hold for 7 days to make sure no other of the pups come down with any thing.
and no one did.thank god.

thanks for all the support. daisy, our little puppy, is now fine and healthy. i considered taking him to small claims court but i honestly just do not have the time or the energy. my husband and i are just glad that daisy is finally better and continues to bring us such joy. my main concern at this point is that he is still selling puppies from his house, in the same backyard where little daisy contracted this parvo. i would hate for others to go through what we went through.

In California it may be easier to report someone. Contact the attorney genrals office and the city health department and drop them a line. Maybe contact California Department of Ag. Take a look at this person and after all of this they are still in business, specifically the ones that mention name Harmon. Also this person advertises on Kijiji.
