| Sounds like an impulse buyer or someone wishing to peddle them. If I replied I would ask them a bunch of questions that showed you were sincere about finding good homes. Tell them you want the # to their vet, references, if they plan to have the pups spayed or nuetered and have they researched the breed. An equally sincere buyer is usually willing to give you this info. If they are an impulse buyer they will feel like you are asking too much information and that would all take too long to go through a process of questions and if its a peddler they wont reply back at all realizing your not going to be taken advantage of and its not worth their time to convince you otherwise. |

i agree, an illiterate adult, or kid that wants a puppy.
i wouldn't even bother, I'd only sell pups to people that send me a paragraph on why they want the puppy, and what kind of life they can give it.
sometimes you get the quick "Are any still available?" then you reply "no, or yes they are, what can you tell me about yourself, why have you chosen this puppy?" if they don't have a good answer, they are not a good home. |

my latest e-mail from someone said that if i wanted the pup to have a really good home that i'd give it to them for free.......
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
these are purebred chihuahuas and we're only asking $50, are they nuts, i understand that taking on a puppy is a huge responsibility and they require alot of vet care which costs alot of money, but $50 for a purebred is practically free......
and i took some of your guys advice and asked alot of questions and all i got back was when can we meet? thats a no! |

No, the store i work at doesn't want to encourage puppy-mills and such. So we only sell small pets, reptiles, fish, etc.
We do however give away a free space to the local SPCA and they bring their cats and kittens over and people come in, and have the option of adopting cats through them. we just have the space to help get them adopted, not everyone knows about the spca. Its great. we are not allowed to go handle the spca cats, so we wait for the store to close, and then go play with them. lol
We also let dog rescues come on certain weekends to use the training area to adopt out rescued dogs.
Also most employees give a dollar-two dollars per week out of our paychecks to an association that uses the $ to keep dogs from being euthanized.
What's even better tho is everyone in my dept. can refuse the sale of any animal (Even fish) to a person that we feel is going to harm them purposely. so when they come in wanting a rat for their snake, i kindly take them to the freezer that has frozen mice and rats. when they say "what's the fun in that, or He wont eat those" i point to the door, and tell them they need to go somewhere else ^.^ |

| I've gotten a lot of replies like that. I wouldn't even use my time writing them. I think that from any one you feel is fishy don't even amuse them. I have written back before and they never reply. Personally I think they're spammers so thats another reason. |
