With some states like Florida asking for more sites and other states with just one city, why don't you have just a state only site?

It would give all the ads equal exposure and those who want to search different areas would have an easyer time also.

Then you would not hear about how far this city is from me, or this city is closer.

The only draw back is smaller states, less exposure( Rhode Island) larger states more exposure(Texas) then users could decide where to find what and where.

My 2 cents.

no need to apologize! people are new to the site, and we just ask that anyone who is going to post an ad to review our policies first.

Well that kina sucks because i live in NH and in Maine. Like i literally live with my parents in NH monday-thursday, then i live in maine thursday night-sunday. and i alternant weeks in the summer. So technically i should be allowed to post in multiple cities, because i live in 2 different states. Not to mention i can deliver to one or the other easily, they are only about an hour apart, and i'm always at one place.

THats something for you Mods to think about. because its not fair, if i do live in 2 diferent places. Just like if people live in between states, or close to 2 cities posted here, they should have the right to do the same.

THats my 2Cents.

You did say post in the state you reside in, and i just happen to reside in 2 for equal amounts of time. so that isn't breaking a rule.

BadBreeder1, this site is primarily a classifieds site where things can be bought or sold. I take it that you mean "dog breeders" when you imply that there are bad breeders around and that you are on a mission to "bring them down". Well, there are incompetent members in every profession and/or occupation. I don't breed dogs but I recognize the popularity of that activity and respect the effort of those involved in supplying millions of pets annually to people like me who wish to purchase them. It is not your job to "blacklist" individuals based on your judgment. Dog breeding is a legal activity--it has existed for thousands of years so why should a "Johnnie Come Lately" (I noticed that you have numerous postings on this same topic and you only joined yesterday), like yourself think that you are fighting for a noble cause. Your postings do not belone on Kijiji AND THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

I have read others complaints bout not being able to post in more than one city and just wanted to voice my opinion. I, like others, live in the boonies (try 40 miles from a Wal-Mart). I am exactly halfway between Dallas and Houston. Both cities are a market for selling my home.
You said ya'll are always looking for ways to improve the site. Well, multiple city postings would be quite helpful. You could limit it to two cities per person. Maybe if enough people express the need, you will consider it.

In reply to txtreehouse49, you may as well forget it. I was one of the first 100 or so to sign up to Kijiji. I was so excited to find this sight and to join in on the fun of selling, but my hopes of being able to sell was quickly dashed. I live on the east side of St. Louis and because the river is separating us and I am on the Illinois side I am not allowed to post in St. Louis. The closest city to me inside Illinois is up in the middle of the state over 200 miles away. I have asked for some smaller communities to be listed in Southern Illinois, but my request has been ignored. It is still to my amazement though that many people that are my neighbors are posting in St. Louis and it seems to be quite okay. It's always well, the team is looking at your request and also do our job for us and if you see someone posting out of state then turn them in. So anyway, don't get your hopes up as it has been a long wait. Cheers! Very Happy

we would hate for you to feel it is being "ignored" when we say we pass along requests we genuinely do. It is up to other people on what cities to choose to add to the site, and whatever their reasoning is to ad or to decide not to ad, is out of our hands Sad
I try to answer all requests that people give on the board so I can send them to the team, so as the demand for something increases they can see it and decide accordingly what to ad.

As mentioned Kijiji is meant to be a local trading site, that is why the site was created. However you are allowed to post in every city in your state, which does get out to alot of people. And, obviously, anyone can view your ad on the site as well. But our site was not intended for national exposure (eBay is better for that).

Are there ANY fees incurred for using Kijiji? Any insertion fees, final value fees, or other fees?

I have some things listed, but have not sold anything yet. sandra

I want to praise this site...although I have yet to actually sell anything. It is a fine medium to have at hand. Thank you!!

I have property listed in my local region...as per strict, unbending rules. Very Happy On property for sale/rent issues, Kijiji Kelly, one might want to be able to list in other regions for a new market and more exposure to enable a hopefully quick sale/rental on their listing...(???)
What I have done is send many emails... "spread the word" about this wonderful new site...sharing it with all my friends to "Please, come in and look around! List your ads, see all of mine!"
Perhaps if they are or know someone who is looking to buy anything, they can come here Very Happy
It seemed the only way to get the word out about this site. I have not yet met anyone who knew! We have to have rules. Let's use them wisely.
Again, thank you
Very Happy

thanks for the suggestion! will pass along!

This site is easy to surf first off. Having the ability to 'see' the location of my ad is awesome! And being able to see the number of unique views is a fantastic bonus! I can only wait for the 'url' gods that they are to allow us to put them in our ads. Other than that, GOOD JOB Kijiji!
