I started a thread in the chat board, but I thought I'd start it here too! What is your families favourite recipes? Care to share your family secrets?
My meal that is always a hit is chicken parmesean. My kids always rave about it and it is so simple it's embarrassing lol. I dip the chicken in egg yolk mixed with a bit of milk and spices, roll in bread crumbs, fry til the breading is light brown, and put in a baking dish. Some tomato sauce, grate whatever cheese you prefer (I stick to mozzarella or blend), sprinkle on top, pop in the oven, voila. Sooo easy! I'm not a great cook so simple stuff like this is what I tend to stick to lol
anyone have something a bit more, extravagent? LOL
let's share!
cheers,

I'm not saying this is more extravegant by any means, I just thought I'd share one of my favorite dishes to make...
I make this one finger food whenever I have parties/get-togethers and on every holiday gathering... Kind of for an appetizer or before-the-meal finger food.
I take sliced lunch meat ham (I usually just buy the packages of it, not straight from the deli line) take the pieces out and dry them off with paper towels. spread a thin layer of cream cheese over them. I usually let the cream cheese sit out for a little bit so it is as hard to spread. The I'll take long green onions and cut them so they are just a little bit longer then the width of the ham slice. I use all of the onion except for the very end where the actual onion is. Lay one or two "straws" of the onion at the end of the ham and roll 'em up. Then I usually cut the ham roll-up in half.
I then place them in a circular pattern around the plate with the extra onion sides sticking outward... For extra decoractive garnishes to make the plate look pretty I will cut up extra pieces of the onions straw parts in tiny pieces and sprinkle them over the dish, and I also place black olives randomly around the plate.
This is a scrumptuous plate in my opinion.
I usually eat a handfull before I even finish making them to put them on the plate!

| Heres something thats really good and healthy....you will need margerine or butter I prefer margerine, package of chicken cutlets (regular size pkg.) 2 bags of frozen brocolli cut up, garlic, macaroni (ziti, rigatoni, bow ties) whichever you prefer and either locatelli cheese or parmesan cheese. In frying pan melt about 2 tablespoons of butter, cut up chicken in little squares and add them to frying pan cook well when done put in a bowl and set aside. In frying pan add about 4 tbls of butter, about 4 cloves of garlic chopped, brocolli cover and let cook. Start your water for the macaroni. Once brocolli is cooked mash it, once mashed add the chicken to it mix around. In a large bowl add that to the macaroni mix well add some cheese on top and wala done....Kids love it they don't even know there eating brocolli!! P.S. add salt and pepper to chicken. |

hi am new to this board jumping right in with one of my family favorites.........PIZZA CASOROLE it is a very simple recipe, when my crew is in the mood for pizza. you fry groud beef or turkey. you can also get creative with your meat! Mix them with other types of a meat. after you pick your choice of meat and cook it oh i about forgot the most importaint ingredent tones pizza seasoning. get a 8x8 or a 9x13 baking dish. start by layering crackers, then the meat, some of your favorite cheese, then some pizza sauce. keep repeating the layers until you get to the top of your baking dish...try to work it out so you end up with cheese as your last layer. Pop it into a pre-heated at 350 oven for 20 mins. yummmmy |

My mom makes this salad!!! It's soooooo good. The combination of all the different textures and flavors! We call it the seven layer salad. I don't know if it actually does have seven layers or not. I think how she makes it it does.
But yeah, great recipe! Awesome for cookouts, church buffets, bbqs, and parties!!!!
