Okay, now why is it that we cannot post in multipul states?? I live in a part of OK that Dallas is actually CLOSER to me than OKC!! I see no logic of preventing ppl from multi state postings. Additionally, I actually live in BOTH states - one's my home, the other where I stay while going to school. SO, technically, I am residing in both places!!
Is there anyway that an add can be posted nation wide and narrowed down by city and/or state for each seperate catagory (pets, jobs, etc)??
I'm frustrated with my adds continually being taken down because I'm trying to find a certain item (want ad) in two cities that, while they are closer to me than others, are in different states. I understand others are also getting flustered with this situation. I really would like this "rule" to be amended or at least an alternative way of listing provided (national listing with city/state narrowing methods).

I too am frustrated with this policy of not being able to post in multiple states. I grew up in Austin, TX, my family is there, and am planning an event there next week so I posted something about it. Because I normally post in Orlando, Kijiji terminated my posting.
We have a very mobile society, and "community" is broader than where you physically live now.
I don't understand the logic behind the state boundary rule anyway. A more sensible policy might be to limit postings per day... or charge a nominal fee for a non-local listing, and provide filtering so people who only want to see local postings can see them that way or something like that. |

The your state only policy is very well hidden for some unknown reasons.
I had all of my ads removed except one, and that one isn't from my state!
Not only that, but another ad I had posted (which I did not have a copy of) was also removed and now it will be very difficult to recreate it. Whereas, if it had not been deleted, it would have very simple to renew that again.
Kijiji terminating ads without any explanation(s) won't make them friends...
On the other hand, up to 4 images allowed is very generous. It's funny to see people asking for more (like they really "need" 6?), instead of being happy that they can post 4 (with a total of 4 megs allowed). That's a Lot!

| ...so it's really not as uncommon as you think. I do think that it would be nice if Kijiji sent you a reason and allowed you to "appeal" their decision. But they may not have time for that, I don't know. |

I live in Illinois but would like to place ads in st.louis because that is the major city near me. I don't want to place an ad nationally just St.Louis. Crazy that I can live so close and not be able to advertise there. I told them to just delete my account. |

I've come across this as well, I live on the state line. There is a major college town in GA that is closer to me than any city listed in FL but Kijiji does not offer that town as a listing option (even if they did I wouldn't be able to list there because... I live in Florida)
While this is a small splinter in my thumb, I remind myself -- THIS IS A FREE SITE -- I think it is awesome everything we DO have available here |

| Love the site, but would be able to adveritise all over. Like another said we are use to EBAY! Add shipping or Local Pick-up. Livedeal offers you to list localy or nationaly and when you search you put in your address and local ads come up and you can choose, local or national, this would be such a bonus for sellers and buyers! |

| I too live only 7 miles from Michigan and close to Chicago too. I cannot advertise in those areas because I live in Indiana. Those are my so called "local" areas. Great sight tho. |

| Restricting to cities and states is just too parochial especially when you can look up ads on ebay by mileage. Let's get with it kijiji. Need more analysis of demographics. Mileage also may not be the only answer. Population in an area should also count. Just cause cl does it doesn't mean it is the right way. You have the best programmers, systems analysts and marketing analysts and you should use them. Keep in mind that for every discussin post here there are hundreds, maybe thousands, who think the same way. |
