If you can't beat'm, join'm - the cl dilemma

I realize that there are political problems between cl and kijiji but the fact is that they are complimentary sites much like two fast food restaurants across the street from each other. As I understand it kijiji is owned by ebay and ebay owns 25% of cl. cl has more postings and hits than kijiji. Everyone agrees kijiji has a better format but for some reason isn’t catching on. So why not just include the cl ads on kijiji. Wait, I know why that can’t be done but there is a way to include them without including them. Just include an option on the search bar to include a craigslist search.

Like: * search kijiji, * search the web, * search craigslist

Would it work – maybe, would cl shut it down – probably, is it a good idea – I don’t know, but it would give me a reason not to go to cl first. A site called listpics tried it and it worked for awhile and I loved it mainly because it was more like kijiji.

I have written to many that I saw on CL,people who were trying to find a home for an animal,and suggested Kijiji to them since they don't have the problem of "F" on this website. If you have been to the Pets section on CL,you know what I am talking about. Good ads are being removed from CL all because there are many who don't have anything else better to do that appoint themselves judge and jury of any post. It has turned off a lot of people to that website. Writing to any "editor" to complain does no good. There doesn't seem to be anybody in charge and they will not fix the problem. This is a much better run site.

I see it as a way not nessarily to direct traffic away from kijiji but to direct traffict to kijiji

KIJIJI HAS BEEN ARROUND LONG ENOUGH NOW TO DO SOMTHING ABOUT ITS PROBLEMS BUT DONE NOTHING TO INCREASE USAGE. CHECK ALL THE SUGGESTIONS YOU HAVE BEEN MAKING ON HERE. HOW MANY HAVE BEEN INCORPERATED. --ZERO--
CRAIGS LISTS POSTS MORE ADS IN ONE CATEGORY IN ONE HOUR IN ONE GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION THEN ALL OF KIJIJI DOES IN A MONTH IN ALL CATEGORIES. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THAT BEFORE AND ONLY HERD KIJIJI IS NEW AND WILL CATCH ON. WHATS THEIR EXCUSE NOW. LAZY STAFF IS THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF. MAYBE WHEN I CHECK BACK NEXT TIME THEY WILL FIRE EVERYONE THEY HAVE ON NOW AND PUT SOMBODY THAT CARES IN IMPROVING THE SITE BUT I DOUBY IT.
P.S. THIS SITE IS GOOD FOR ANIMAL LOVERS BUT SOME OF US EVEN THOUGH WE LOVE OUR PETS WOULD LIKE TO SELL OTHER THINGS TO. RETIRED NAVY CHIEF.
