So I'm really wanting a dog for myself. We have a boston terrier (my husband's dog) and a mutt dog (my son's dog) and I'm wanting a dog for me. I had a pomeranian I adopted about 5 weeks ago and almost a week ago he disappeared out of my backyard. Since he's been gone, and I've pretty much given up the search, I've been casually looking around online for another pup to love on. My husband is suddenly totally against me getting another dog. I don't know if I should just give it up for now and see if I can get one for my anniversary present (October) or what. Any suggestions on how I can convince my stone-hearted husband? Thanks guys! |

You know it is pretty easy to steal the affections of the
dogs you already have in the house hold.
With attention and walks and treats. Your husband and son
could be dogless. LOL
A dog respects the leader in the pack. So even if you
aquire another dog just for yourself. If you are not
the leader of the pack. That dog will accually attach
itself to the one in the house that is leader. Being Dog or
Husband or Son.
So if you are the one at home. Steal the affections
of your hubby's and son's dog first. Then you will
know you are the pack leader. And you will have two dogs.
And hubby and son will have none. |

I like this idea. And when they try to figure out what happened tell them simply. "Well, you said I couldn't get a puppy. So I decided to steal your dog. Now can I have that puppy?" |

LMFAO!!! Haha when I decided to get the lab puppy I just kept talking and talking about getting a puppy for our son and how great it will be and he just got so tired of hearing about and gave in, now he LOVES the lab and spoils him rotten (he just needs to learn I'm always right.....) |

You say your dog has been missing for almost a week. At the risk of sounding harsh, I would be doing everything I could to find my dog instead of giving up and looking for a new one.
Have you contacted all your local shelters? Searched your neighborhood? Have you posted fliers? Put up adds in newspapers? To find out more ideas on how to find a lost or stolen dog you can do a search on the internet, there are things you can do do try and find him. Good luck in finding your dog, I know I'd be frantic with worry. |

Here's another idea. Rent a megaphone and drive all over town calling for your dog. A bit out there? Perhaps but I've done that looking for a friends lost parrot once. (We didn't find her |

I hope your dog shows up...if not and you decide to get another just go get one and when hubby comes home SURPRISE If I ever asked my husband for his permission on anything I do I think he would have a heart attack or think I was terminally ill... |

I know exactly what you are going through. My husband thinks he controls everything too. He didn't want kids, we have four. He doesn't like dogs, we have six Poms in the house. You just have to let them know, "Hey I am your wife, not your kid! I am going to make some decisions for myself. This is my life too and I deserve to be just as happy as you." If that doesn't work, tell him you' re either having another baby or a puppy. He'll let you have your puppy guaranteed. Good luck!

| It is always risky to leave a small dog in a yard that is unattended and unsecured. A small dog should be kept inside or if you want to keep it outside then I would suggest that you purchase a large secure dog cage. The cage shoulkd be kept out of the sun and should contain water and toys for the dog to play with. Someone may have just stolen your dog because they felt that it was unattended and felt that they were rescuing it. Hopefully the person who took the dog will give it a good and secure environment.. |

I personally do not think that you should get a puppy if your
family does not want one.
The pup will suffer if everyone else is against haveing it. |

That is not true...I bought my dog and no one wanted one. Once they all seen him they all fell in love with him now I have 5 and they love all of them as well. |
